2 Wounded In Humboldt Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were wounded, one of them critically, in a shooting early Wednesday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 5 a.m., five people were in a vehicle driving in the 1100 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, when three people on the street started yelling gang slogans at them before opening fire, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The driver, a 19-year-old man who suffered graze wounds to the forearm and wrist, took them to Norwegian American Hospital, Estrada said. He was in good condition.

The front seat passenger, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the lower back. He was listed in critical condition Wednesday morning.
