2 Shot Near CTA Blue Line Station In West Garfield Park

(STMW) -- Two men were shot near the Pulaski Blue Line station in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Saturday.

The men, ages 29 and 33, were walking in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road at 6:23 p.m. when someone walked up behind them and fired shots, hitting the younger man in the leg and grazing the older man in the leg, police said.

The 29-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, and the older man refused medical attention, police said.

Blue Line trains temporarily bypassed the Pulaski station because of police activity, but service was restored within 20 minutes, according to a CTA alert.
