2 Men Charged With Robbing Woman On NW Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men face charges after they allegedly robbed a woman on the Northwest Side Tuesday morning.

Daijon Prince, 22, and Mike Freeman, 21, were each charged with one felony count of robbery, according to Chicago Police.

Price and Freeman — who police said was on parole at the time for residential burglary — walked up to a 52-year-old woman in the 3000 block of West Bryn Mawr about 9:40 a.m. and threw her to the ground, causing her to hit her head on the pavement, police said.

The two men grabbed the woman's purse and ran off, but the woman was able to alert officers and they placed Prince and Freeman into custody after a short foot chase, police said.

The woman, whose purse was recovered, was treated for minor injuries at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.

Prince, of the 5200 block of South Michigan, and Freeman, of the 2900 block of North Kildare, are scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday, police said.
