2 killed in crash involving garbage truck in Will County, Illinois
PEOTONE, Ill. (CBS) -- Two people were killed and four others were injured in a crash involving a garbage truck in a rural area of Will County on Thursday.
The crash happened on U.S. 45 south of Offner Road — northwest of Peotone and a short distance from I-57 — just before 11:20 a.m.
Illinois State Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash — the garbage truck and two passenger vehicles.
The four people who were hurt were taken to area hospitals.
The cause of the crash was under investigation late Thursday.
