2 Dogs Killed In North Lawndale Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two dogs were killed and six people were left homeless after a fire in the North Lawndale neighborhood Sunday night on the Southwest Side.

It started about 8:15 p.m. in the third floor of an apartment building in the 4000 block of West 21st Place and was extinguished in about a half-hour, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

No people were injured, but two dogs were found dead, fire officials said. Six people were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
