2 Charged In Gary Attempted Murder

(CBS) -- Two men were charged with attempted murder after allegedly running over a person with a vehicle last August in Gary.

Carlton Crosslin Jr., 27, and John Fitzgerald Hardaway, 30, were each charged with attempted murder; aggravated battery; battery by means of a deadly weapon; battery resulting in serious bodily injury; battery resulting in moderate bodily injury; and pointing a firearm, according to the Gary Police Department.

Neither man is currently in police custody, however, and investigators believe them to be armed and dangerous, police aid.

On Aug. 16, the two men were in a vehicle near the intersection of 13th Avenue and Madison Street, according to Gary police. They saw another male, in town from Indianapolis and whom Crosslin knew for "a significant amount of time," and began to chase him in their vehicle.

Police said Hardaway pointed a gun at him and eventually their vehicle jumped the curb and hit the male. Police did not disclose his age or medical condition.

After hitting him, Hardaway and Crosslin drove off, police said.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call police at (219) 881-1210.
