The assaults took place in the Palatine and Hoffman Estates area, the sheriff's office said. Vaughan, who was living in Kentucky when he talked to the undercover officer, previously lived in Palatine.

Vaughan was arrested in Kentucky Oct. 7 and returned to Cook County on Wednesday, the sheriff's office said. Bond was set at $2.5 million Thursday at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.

Vaughan is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 4.
