$1M Bond For Man Charged In Oak Forest Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was set at $1 million for a Chicago man charged in connection with a Sunday shooting in southwest suburban Oak Forest that left one man injured.

Luis Gonzalez, 33, of the 5500 block of South Kolin, was charged Monday with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and vehicular invasion, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff's office.

About 5:15 p.m. Sunday, police were called after a shooting was reported at Bachelor Grove Woods forest preserve at 147th and Ridgeland during a soccer match attended by an estimated 2,000 people, police said.

A 47-year-old Harvey man was shot, and he was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

Gonzalez, of the 5500 block of South Kolin, was ordered held on a $1 million bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Bridgeview.
