17-Year-Old Girl Critically Wounded In West Side Shooting

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old girl was shot and critically wounded early Saturday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

About 3:20 a.m., she was in the back seat of a vehicle with three other people traveling in the 4300 block of West Kinzie when a brown car started following them, according to Chicago Police.

Someone in the brown car then opened fire, shooting the girl in the back of the head, police said.

The driver took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Police initially said the girl was shot on a party bus but later corrected that information.
