16-Year-Old Shot In The Head, Killed In Chicago's Woodlawn Neighborhood

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Authorities said a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, and he later died.

According to Chicago police, the teen was standing in the 6200 block of South Greenwood Avenue at 4:08 p.m. when he was shot. The suspect fled into a home in the same block, police said

CPD said the teen was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead.

Police said "a person of interest" was taken into custody. Detectives are investigating.
