16-year-old girl shot, killed in unincorporated Glenview, Illinois

A 16-year-old girl was shot in an unincorporated area outside north suburban Glenview, Illinois, on Saturday morning. 

According to Cook County Sheriff's police, the teenager was shot in a house in the 3600 block of South Salem Walk, near Milwaukee and Lake avenues. around 11 a.m. No further details were released on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. 

Police said the teen was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead. 

The teen was identified as Lilly Bova, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Detectives were searching for a person of interest Sunday. 

The investigation was ongoing.
