13 People Injured In Crash Involving CTA Bus Near Auburn Gresham

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Thirteen people were injured in a crash involving a CTA bus in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood Saturday.

According to police, a Hyundai heading eastbound on 79th Street drove through a red light and struck a blue Dodge shortly before 10 a.m. The impact of the crash caused the Hyundai to flip over and strike the CTA bus and a Chevy van.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, eight adults were taken to various hospitals in serious to critical condition, four adults were taken to hospitals in good to fair condition, and one child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in fair to serious condition. Five other people involved in the crash refused medical treatment.

Police said citations are pending further investigation.
