1 Teen Killed, 1 Wounded In Grand Boulevard Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two teen boys were shot — one fatally — in Grand Boulevard Monday night.

About 10:40 p.m. the two were talking to several people in a black van in the 600 block of East 50th Place, police said. Someone inside the van then opened fire, striking the 17-year-old in the chest and the 15-year-old in the upper right arm.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. His name was withheld Tuesday morning pending notification of family members.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the upper right arm and taken to Comer Children's Hospital in "stable" condition, police said.
