1 Killed, 3 Wounded In East Garfield Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting Wednesday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on West Side, police said.

The shooting happened at Horan Park in the 3000 block of West Van Buren at 10:36 a.m., according to police.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

Another 23-year-old man was shot in the upper left shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai in good condition. A 22-year-old man was shot in the right leg and also taken to Mount Sinai in good condition.

A fourth victim, a man in his 20s, was shot in the abdomen and was in serious condition at Mount Sinai.

Details of the shooting were not immediately available.
