1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Austin Drive-By Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another was critically injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Three males were standing in front of a building in the 5700 block of West Augusta Boulevard at 8:56 p.m. when a tan Lincoln MKZ drove by and someone inside fired several shots, police said.

Damian Williams, 22, sufferd multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Williams, of the 5900 block of West Augusta Boulevard, was pronounced dead at 9:43 p.m., the medical examiner's office said.

Another man, 23, was shot the chest and groin and was also taken to Mount Sinai, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The third male was not injured.
