1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Archer Heights Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man was killed and another was seriously wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.

The men, ages 22 and 25, were standing in the street at 2:14 a.m. in the 4100 block of West 47th Street when a male fired shots at them from a gangway, according to Chicago Police.

The older man was shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

The 22-year-old was also shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition, police said.
