1 Killed, 1 Seriously Wounded In Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was killed and another was seriously wounded in a shooting Thursday morning in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 4:57 a.m. in the 5500 block of South Perry, possibly during a robbery, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

A 48-year-old man was shot in the mouth and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the death but did not release further details Thursday morning.

Another man, 35, was shot in the shoulder and back and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
