1 Dead, 2 Hurt In Crash Near O'Hare

CHICAGO (STMW) -- One woman was killed and two others were injured in an early morning crash Friday near O'Hare International Airport.

The 60-year-old woman was involved in the two-vehicle crash about 12:40 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Mannheim Road, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

She was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead at 1:46 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Her name was not released pending notification of her family.

Another woman, 20, and a man were also hospitalized, Sullivan said.

The woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and was "being treated for trauma," Sullivan said, but her condition was not immediately known. The man was taken to Lutheran General, where he is in "stable" condition, Sullivan said.

Chicago Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
