1 Arrested, 2 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Brighton Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was arrested, and two people were taken to hospitals, after a crash involving eight vehicles in the Brighton Park neighborhood on Wednesday.

Police said, shortly before 6 a.m., three occupied vehicles were involved in a crash in the 4200 block of South Campbell Avenue.

One of the vehicles, a Chevy Tahoe, also struck a building and at least five parked cars. A 36-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl from that car were taken to Saint Anthony Hospital in good condition, police said.

The driver of one of the other two cars was arrested, and criminal charges were pending Wednesday morning. The driver of the third vehicle fled the scene on foot.

Police said it was not immediately clear if two of the vehicles were chasing each other. Police were investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
