Zagat Names Somerville Shop's Donut 'Best In Mass.'
SOMERVILLE (CBS) - In a state with a rich tradition and history of donuts, it's a little surprising that Zagat would turn to a relative newcomer, Union Square Donuts, and cite their Boston Cream Pie donut as the best in Massachusetts.

"It's a traditional Boston cream donut with all of these wonderful, beautiful ingredients incorporated," co-owner Heather Schmidt told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens.
According to the donut makers, all of Union Square Donuts' creations share one common ingredient: love. "That's why we're here. That's why we work seven days a week, all day long. Because we love it," said Schmidt.
And good news for donut eaters who struggle with self-control, this shop is only open Thursday through Sunday.
