Young Man Battling Cancer Gets Wish Granted In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – If you saw a 70-car police escort in Boston on Thursday, you might have thought a world leader was in town. It was all for Justin Quinn, a young man from Gloucester.

His infectious smile masks the battle he's waging with brain cancer. On Thursday, his two wishes came true.

One wish was to meet the mayor, and the other was to become a police officer.

First was the trip to City Hall. Police officers from across the state along with Secret Service and U.S. Marshals were part of the motorcade.

Once inside City Hall, Mayor Walsh declared December 11, 2014 "Justin Quinn Day" in Boston.

Later, Quinn crossed the street to the police station. Officers were standing at attention as they handed Justin his honorary police identification.
