Yarmouth Woman With Child In Car Faces 5th OUI Charge

YARMOUTH (CBS) -- A Yarmouth woman is facing a fifth OUI offense, this time for allegedly driving drunk with her 6-year-old niece in the car.

Police said Lisa Furlani-Bates, 53, was intoxicated in the children's section of the South Yarmouth library with her niece on Saturday morning at about 11 a.m. Library staff called police after they were unable to stop her from driving away with the child in a gray Toyota.

Officers found the vehicle nearby at 12 Salt Works in the driveway of the woman's home, where the child and Furlani-Bates had apparently just arrived.
