Seal Pup Spends Warm February Day Sunbathing On Yarmouth Beach

YARMOUTH (CBS) -- A white seal pup joined the rest of Massachusetts in enjoying Monday's unseasonably warm weather as temperatures soared into the 60s on the first day of February.

Yarmouth police said they were called to Thatcher Beach at about 10:30 a.m. by a concerned resident who found the creature lying on the beach.

But upon further investigation, authorities determined there was nothing wrong.

"The pup was just taking a break and enjoying the view and warmth of the sun," Yarmouth police said, sharing a photo of the pup.
