WPI Investigating Accusations Of Humiliation On Facebook Page

WORCESTER (CBS) --- Worcester Polytechnic is responding to disturbing accusations made anonymously online.

The complaints started in a Facebook group called "WPI Confessions."

On the page, several women claimed they were humiliated while having sex with a fraternity member by other members of his group.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Lana Jones reports

WPI says it does not condone a culture of violence and investigations into each incident are underway.

"Such posts are deeply disturbing - not only because they allege that such vile acts may have taken place at the hands of some of our own community members, but because these posts offer a warped reflection of the values of this university and the vast majority of its citizens. Posts on "WPI Confessions" indicate that WPI has a condoned culture of violence - a message that is not only inaccurate, but is dangerously wrong to send to anyone who may feel threatened, or worse, violated," the school said in a letter to the WPI community.
