WORCESTER (CBS) - A woman has been charged with stabbing a man to death at a home in Worcester Friday morning.

Police were called to the house on Dixfield Street just before 9 a.m. and found 40-year-old Jason Swedberg with a stab wound to his torso. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Jennifer Algarin at the home.

"She had blood on her hands," a neighbor said. "You could see it."

Algarin has been charged with assault and battery with a knife. Pending a mental exam, she could face murder charges.

"There is some question of it being a mental health issue, we are not going to make any determinations," said Worcester Police Lt. Sean Murtha. "It was called in by the victim's mother, apparently the suspect did try to help him medically after it happened."

Neighbor John Snyder said Swedberg was a good kid and had "a big, big heart."
