2 Men Arrested In Weekend Murder In Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Police have charged two people in connection with a weekend shooting in Worcester that left one man dead.

Police say 24-year-old Juan Gutierrez and 21-year-old Kenneth Vazquez face murder and other charges in connection with the shooting Saturday evening that left 37-year-old Juan Mendez dead.

Officers responded to the Lincoln Village Apartments on Country Club Boulevard for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police found the victim on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Investigators do not think the shooting was a random act of violence but have not disclosed a possible motive.
