28 Cats Removed From Small Worcester Apartment

WORCESTER (CBS) -- Twenty-eight cats will be looking for new homes after they were removed from a small apartment in Worcester.

On Tuesday, the cats were adjusting to life at the Worcester Animal Rescue League shelter. The woman who hoarded the cats has been evicted.

The rescue league's Allie Tellier said the cats were found in fairly good condition, but were soaked in urine and had matted fur.

"They just seemed really shocked at what's going on the last day and a half," Tellier said.

The cats will be monitored for several days, and then neutered and spayed before they are available for adoption.
