Woman Struck And Killed By Car On I-95 In Dedham

DEDHAM (AP) — Massachusetts State Police say a woman on Interstate 95 South was struck by a car and killed.

Troopers responded to reports about 5 p.m. Sunday that a pedestrian had been hit by a car on the interstate near the exit at Dedham, about 22 miles southwest of Boston.

The car driver, a 56-year-old Walpole man, was injured. Police say he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are trying to figure out why the 44-year-old Roslindale woman was on the highway. Her name wasn't released, pending notification of her family.

Two lanes of traffic and the exit ramp were closed while officers were investigating at the scene.
