Worcester Man Charged In Murder Of Woman Found At Auburn Mall

AUBURN, Mass. (CBS/AP) — The woman found unconscious and bleeding under a car in the parking lot at the Auburn Mall, has died.

State police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office have charged Vu Van Ngo, 27, of Worcester with the murder of Nhong Nguyen.

Ngo is also charged with misleading a police investigation.

According to police, Ngo and Nguyen worked and commuted together and were social friends.

Police found .22 caliber shell casing near Nguyen's body in the Auburn Mall parking garage. Police say that shell matches a gun found in Ngo's basement.

"We found blood in the car, the forensic testing is being done now along with an autopsy," DA Joseph Early said.

Authorities responding to 911 calls found the woman at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

She was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Mall management said in a statement that they are cooperating with the investigation.

Police say a motive for the killing is not clear.
