1 Killed In House Fire In Winthrop

WINTHROP (CBS) -- A house fire claimed the life of a Winthrop man Saturday morning, the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal's office reports.

The fire tore through a house on Withrop Shore Drive, killing the man, who was in his 60s.

Officials said one person escaped the fire, but was unable to get the other resident out.

The cause is not yet known, but the State Fire Marshal's office said it was believed to be accidental.

The victim has not yet been identified.
