Weymouth High Senior Finds Creative Way To Take Marine Boyfriend To Prom

WEYMOUTH (CBS) -- One Weymouth High School senior didn't let her boyfriend's military duty stop her from taking him to prom.

Allie Hardie's boyfriend of two years Jake Balzano couldn't make it home for prom because he is away with the Marine Corps studying Air Traffic Control.

Instead of sitting out her prom she brought a life-size portrait of him as her date. She and friends even danced with Jake's photo on the dance floor, Allie told WBZ.

Allie says she comes from a Marine family so she understands the hardships of separation.  This is not the first time she's brought the large photo of him to a public event.

"It's hard being so far away from him and missing lifetime events with him but we make it work," she said.
