Suspicious Death Of Woman In Westford Under Investigation

WESTFORD (CBS) -- The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office is investigating a suspicious death in Westford. A woman was found dead along Providence Road around 11:35 a.m. Saturday.

"This is being investigated as a suspicious death based on the location and that the female was not dressed in appropriate clothing for the cold temperature," said a statement from the D.A.

It is unclear whether foul play was involved at this time. However, neighbors are concerned.

"I guess a little weird ... just really not expecting it. We live just down the road, so its really something you wouldn't normally see or expect," said one neighbor.

"I wonder why she was out, especially in a state of undress," said another neighbor.

Right now, most of the neighbors still want answers.

"I hope everything gets figured out," said a neighbor. "Obviously its a very tragic thing. We dont know really what's going on."

The woman has not been identified.
