Grandmother Dies After Westboro Crash Involving School Bus

WESTBORO (CBS) – An elderly Plymouth woman involved in a crash with a school bus in Westboro on Wednesday has died.

Desiree White, 80, was driving a minivan on West Main Street in Westboro around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday when she slammed into a school bus that was turning out of the Westborough Country Club.

No children were on the bus. Police say White did not see the bus because of solar glare.

It took firefighters two hours to free White. She was rushed by ambulance to UMass Worcester Hospital, but police confirmed on Thursday morning that White did not survive.

White's husband Ronald was in the passenger seat of the van while their 11-year-old granddaughter was in the back at the time of the crash.

The girl suffered bumps and bruises. Ronald White's condition was not immediately known.
