Wednesday's Child: Samaira, Natalia And Samael

BOSTON (CBS) – Samaira, Natalia and Samael are siblings of Caucasian and Latino descent whose primary language is English, but they also speak Spanish. All three children have developmental delays and receive support services to address them; Samaira and Natalia have mild to moderate delays in language skills. Samael has delays in motor skills, speech and cognition, and is making improvements with Early Intervention. Samaira also a physical disability but doesn't let it affect her.

As the oldest, 6-year-old Samaira is protective of her siblings. She is close in age to Natalia, and they enjoy imaginative play together. A playful, cheerful, bright-eyed little girl, Samaira likes attention and praise for completing projects. She loves school and gets along well with her peers. Once she is comfortable, Samaira enjoys engaging with people and seems to be able to make them smile. Samaira enjoys coloring and playing with dolls, and especially loves Hello Kitty.

Natalia, 5, shares similar interests to her sister. In addition to playing with dolls and imaginative play, Natalia likes to watch cartoons and include other children in her play. Like her sister, Natalia enjoys spending time with her foster family.

Samael is a 2-year-old toddler who loves watching cartoons in both English and Spanish. He also likes exploring his environment and playing with his sisters. He enjoys his time at daycare where he is making progress socializing with his peers and sharing toys. He enjoys the attention he receives from the males in his extended foster family.

Samaira, Natalia and Samael are legally freed for adoption, and their social worker is seeking a two-parent family who can tend to their varied needs.
