Wednesday's Child: 9-Year-Old Zach

BOSTON (CBS) – Zach, 9, is described as an easy-going, respectful and polite Caucasian boy. He loves being outside playing basketball and keeping busy in general. Zach aspires to be a community helper, specifically a police officer when he grows up. He is in the second grade where he takes pride in his school work and works hard to obtain good grades and perfect attendance.

Academic supports assist Zach in language arts and math. In therapy, he is working on techniques to reduce his inattentiveness and impulsivity. Zach has adjusted well to his current placement but is in need of a permanent, loving home.

His social worker is open to considering all types of family constellations who would be open to four court-ordered visits a year with his birth mother post adoption. Legally freed for adoption, Zach hopes to find a caring family who enjoys basketball as much as he does.

To learn more about Zach, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
