Wednesday's Child: 12-Year-Old Keanu

Wednesday's Child Keanu

Keanu is a sweet and affectionate twelve-year-old Caucasian boy. Keanu loves to run and be outside. He is fascinated by water and loves to play in the pool. His favorite food is pizza. Keanu dances and sings; his favorite songs include "Old MacDonald", "You are my Sunshine", and "Wheels on the Bus".

Keanu has had a challenging start to life and needs a lot of care, support, and love. Keanu has some medical difficulties and some developmental challenges, so he needs family who can put some time into learning about his needs and how to set up the best possible environment for him. Keanu is legally blind with some vision - in fact, his favorite toys are those that light up and play music. Keanu has been learning how to use a cane to navigate his school, and works with a vision teacher too. All of his teachers and providers constantly report what a joy he is to work with, and how much he loves being at school!

Keanu is doing very well in his program, but we would love to see him get the chance to thrive with the attention and love of a family of his own. Keanu is legally freed for adoption and any family constellation that feels they can meet Keanu's needs will be considered.

Since its inception in 1981, Wednesday's Child has been a collaboration of the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), the Department of Children & Families and WBZ-TV/CBS Boston. Hosted by Jack Williams for the last 34 years, this weekly series has given a face and voice to the children who wait the longest for families. Wednesday's Child has helped find homes for hundreds of waiting children and continues to raise awareness about adoption from foster care.
