Weapons Found In Plymouth Child Porn Raid Registered To Grandmother
PLYMOUTH (CBS) – Plymouth police say an arsenal of weapons found in a home during a child pornography raid are registered to a grandmother.
Officers and federal agents searched 24-year-old Brendan Kessler's home on Rocky Pond Road for hours Tuesday as part of an internet sting.
They pulled 87 video files from his computer, according to authorities, all showing graphic child pornography.
According to court documents, FBI agents also found three handguns, three shotguns, eight rifles, ammunition, fireworks, detonator cords, remote firing switches and a hand written journal titled "Mass Murder Book."
The book allegedly contained "detailed entries describing the steps to be taken in an assault."
"Some of the items we located were documents that outlined specific situations that could occur in Plymouth at specific locations," Plymouth Police Chief Michael Botieri told WBZ-TV Wednesday.
"It seems like it's more specifically against buildings. It could be a school in this community, the police department, those type of things."
Botieri told WBZ-TV's Bill Shields the weapons were registered to Kessler's grandmother, but Kessler had access to them.
"We've taken possession of those because we're concerned (about) the access," Botieri said.
Kessler has made online postings indicating a fascination with fireworks. He has also worked in the area as a hockey referee or linesman in local youth leagues.
He was arrested Tuesday and charged with trading and possessing child pornography online.
He is due back in federal court on Thursday.
If convicted, Kessler faces a minimum mandatory of five years in prison on the child porn distribution charge and up to 10 years on the possession charge.
