WBZ's Anthony Silva Signs Off For The Final Time

BOSTON (CBS) – WBZ NewsRadio 1030 afternoon co-anchor Anthony Silva signed off for the final time Thursday night.

Silva spent nearly 36 years reporting the news and is now retiring to spend time with his family and travel. He was surrounded by his family and friends when he signed off.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh called in to say goodbye and declared Thursday "Anthony Silva Day" in the city.

"I want to congratulate you on behalf of all the people of Boston for 35 great years and we're going to miss your voice," Mayor Walsh said to Silva on the radio. "I want to wish you all the best and I want to wish you and your wife a very happy retirement."
