WBZ To Host First Boston Television Debate In Mass. Governor's Race

BOSTON - WBZ-TV will be hosting the first Boston television debate in the Massachusetts Governor's race. All five candidates on the November ballot will be in the WBZ Studios on the evening of Tuesday, October 7.

The one hour debate will be moderated by WBZ Political Analyst Jon Keller.

The gubernatorial debate will include not only major party candidates Charlie Baker (R) and Martha Coakley (D), but independents Evan Falchuk, Scott Lively and Jeff McCormick.

Keller says that the debate format will encourage direct engagement between the candidates, so "you will see plenty of Baker and Coakley one-on-one, along with equal time for the independents."

The 7 p.m. debate will be simulcast on WBZ NewsRadio 1030 and streamed here on CBSBoston.com.
