Watertown Man Struck, Killed In Brighton Crash

BRIGHTON (CBS) - An 81-year-old Watertown man was struck and killed by a car late Friday night on Route 90 West in Brighton, State Police say.

Police were called to the crash site located about a mile west of the Prudential Tunnel about 11 p.m. on a report of a three-car crash involving a pedestrian. Boston EMS also responded.

Before the fatal crash, there was a minor accident involving a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 1998 Honda Accord, driven by the victim, Arkloo Wong. Wong and the other driver parked their cars in the right, active travel lane to swap paperwork.

Wong got out of his car, parked behind the Mercury, and stood behind it.

Moments later, a 2010 Volkswagen struck Wong and the Honda. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercury, William Hamilton, 73, of Worcester, was not hurt.

The driver of the Volkswagen Joseph Coury, 30, of Brighton, was taken to Beth Israel Hospital. His status is unknown.

The accident remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
