Narragansett Regional High School Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges

HARVARD, Mass. (AP/CBS) — A Massachusetts high school teacher is facing child pornography charges.

U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling says 26-year-old Warren Anderson admitted in Boston federal court Tuesday he accessed websites on the so-called "dark web" to obtain child pornography.

The office says Anderson, a math teacher at Narragansett Regional High School in Templeton, obtained videos of men sexually assaulting children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old.

School Superintendent Christopher Casavant says Anderson has been placed on indefinite leave and that there's not any evidence any of the victims were local students.

Authorities say Anderson was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into the use of the online messenger Kik for exchanging child pornography.

Anderson was arrested at his aunt's Harvard home on Tuesday. She told WBZ-TV that he asked for prayers and said he would "make this right" as he was led away in handcuffs.

"If I were to describe my nephew, I'd say he's kind of like a nerd type," Sheila Anderson said. "Very computer savvy, very straight up, serious and quiet."

He's being held pending an Aug. 27 hearing.
