Car Slams Into Van And Waltham House

WALTHAM (CBS) - An out-of-control car crashed into a home in Waltham overnight.

The sedan smashed through a fence and then into a van, pushing it into the side of a house on Wayne Avenue around midnight Friday.

The force of the impact crushed part of the home's brick wall and tore off the back of the van, which was parked in the driveway.

"All of the sudden, I heard a bang and came out and there was a white car crashed into my truck," homeowner Anthony Susi said.

"She was trying to start the car again to leave. I kept hearing the ignition go wing, wing, wing, like winding the key," Susi said. "I came out and started screaming. Then, she came out and apologized and said 'I'm so sorry.' Then, the police came after we called 911."

Susi said the driver did not appear to be hurt. "She walked out fine. I was amazed. Absolutely amazed."

The bedrooms are on the other side of the house, so everyone inside was okay, and the family will be able to stay in the house.

The car, which ended up with heavy front end damage, was towed away. Susi's van was also towed.
