Man Killed During Police Shooting In Walpole, New Hampshire

WALPOLE, N.H. (CBS) – A man died late Saturday after a police shooting in Walpole, New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Attorney General's office identified the man as 57-year-old Christopher Tkal.

Police responded to a 911 call for domestic violence on County Road around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

"After one resident met troopers outside, an encounter ensued with a resident inside the home. During the encounter, one trooper discharged his weapon," said a statement from the A.G..

A loaded gun was found underneath Tkal's body, according to the A.G..

No officers were hurt during the incident and police said there is no threat to the community.

Per protocol, the trooper involved is being withheld until a formal interview is conducted.

There were no body or cruiser cameras at the scene.
