Wallach Vs. A Caller Named Joe In An Old-Fashioned Baseball Stat Fight
98.5 The Sports Hub's Jon Wallach is a lifelong baseball fan, and as such, he takes a bit of grief from Toucher & Rich for being a stat nerd. It comes with the territory of being a baseball fan these days.
Yet when two baseball fans disagree and start throwing advanced stats in each other's faces.
Wallach shared his opinion this week that catcher Russell Martin is not worth the five-year, $82 million contract he received from the Toronto Blue Jays. Fair enough.
Toronto giving Martin that insane contract will drive Panda's price through the roof. Martin has 100 hits in one of his last 5 yrs!

Well, this angered someone on Twitter, and that person threw out some fWAR numbers and some notes about pitch framing, arguing that the contract was pretty fair.
That baseball fan wasn't satisfied with leaving his opinions on Twitter, so he called into the show on Friday morning.
The result?
@Toucherandrich nerd fight
