Volunteers Sought At Mount Washington Museum

NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (AP) — How's this for a cool summer experience? The Mount Washington Observatory is looking for volunteers to lead programs at its Extreme Mount Washington museum on the summit.

The renovated museum, opening in May, will show visitors what winter's like at the mountain through hands-on, high-tech exhibits.

The volunteer positions will provide participants the chance to live in a real, working weather station atop the tallest peak in the Northeast. Volunteers will follow the same eight-day shifts as the observatory weather station crew, working Wednesday to the following Wednesday. Transportation to and from the summit, bunk room accommodations and meals will be provided.

Applicants should send a resume and letter to jobs@mountwashington.org or Mount Washington Observatory, Attn: Docent Program, P.O. Box 2310, North Conway, NH 03860. Applications are due April 4.
