Video Roundup: First Snow Storm Of 2014 Hits Southern New England

BOSTON (CBS) - The first snow storm of 2014 hit southern New England hard with more than a foot of snow in many towns, while bitter cold temperatures plummeted to near-record levels.

The Nor'easter dropped 2 feet of snow just north of Boston in Essex County.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino asked drivers to stay off the road.

Governor Deval Patrick told state employees to stay home Friday, but he stopped short of declaring any kind of driving ban.
