Vermont's Ben & Jerry's Unveils New 'Core' Flavors

BURLINGTON, V.T. (CBS) -- As if Vermont ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's could get any more decadent, it just did.

The company has announced five new "core" flavors including "Hazed & Confused," "Peanut Butter Fudge," "Karamel Sutra," "Salted Caramel Core," and "That's My Jam."

The ice creams have a "flavor core" running down the middle on the pint. For instance, the "Salted Caramel Core" flavor features sweet cream with blonde brownies ice cream and a salted caramel core.

It seems the ice creams are so far, well-received. More than 38,000 people "like" the flavor announcement on the company's Facebook page. The ice creams can be found in local supermarkets for around $4.39 per pint.

And if the calories listed on the side of the container make you weep, you can rest a little easier knowing what you just ate is non-GMO, fair-trade and made with cage-free eggs.
