Van Strikes Salem Home During Hit And Run Crash

SALEM, Mass. (CBS) – Salem police were searching for the driver of a car that hit a van Friday night, causing the vehicle to hit a home.

The crash happened at about 6 p.m. Friday night on Linden Ave. in Salem.

Police said a car drove through a stop sign and hit a van, causing it to strike a Linden Ave. home's porch.

Two adults who were inside the van were trapped until firefighters arrived shortly after the crash. Both were transported to North Shore Medical Center with minor injuries.

According to police, the driver of the car fled the area. The car was found a few blocks away with no one inside.

Officers located the owner of the car, but were still trying to find the driver as of late Friday night.
