Ex-Van Driver Charged With Assaulting Elderly Female Clients

PLYMOUTH (AP) — Authorities in Massachusetts say a former van driver who transported elderly patients to and from an adult health center is accused of inappropriately touching six female clients.

Robert McNeil, of Pembroke, was arraigned Monday in Plymouth District Court. The 57-year-old McNeil is charged with 10 counts of indecent assault and battery on an elder or disabled person.

Prosecutors say McNeil worked as a van transport driver for CareWell Adult Day Wellness Center in Norwell. They say he approached the owners of CareWell in July to report he had inappropriately touched six female clients dating back to 2014.

Authorities say McNeil was immediately placed on medical leave and sought outpatient treatment.

McNeil was released on personal recognizance. A message left at a phone number listed for McNeil wasn't immediately returned Monday.
