USS Constitution Returns To Expanded Summer Hours
BOSTON (AP) — Boston's USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship still afloat, has reopened for expanded summer hours.
The ship is now open to visitors for free between 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday, and between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Guided tours, narrated by active U.S. Navy sailors, are now offered every half hour from opening time until 5:30 p.m.
Guided tours take visitors through the ship's top two decks. The top deck is also open to visitors who don't take a guided tour.
Known as "Old Ironsides," the ship defended sea lanes from 1797 to 1855. The ship and its museum are housed in the Navy Yard of Boston's Charlestown neighborhood.
The ship returned to expanded hours on April 15.
